Abstract

Abstract Grafting of methylmethacrylate onto cotton has been investigated, using organic molecules as photo‐initiators. Several parameters of the reaction have been studied and the results have been compared with those obtained in unphotosensitized experiments. A grafting of about 200% may be achieved by irradiating with commercially available lamps. The results are discussed with special emphasis on the reactivity of the initiators.
