S ummary The relative phosphorus and calcium contents of the phosphatic granules of Fagus mycorrhiza were measured before and after phosphate absorption from KH 2 PO 4 solution. Whereas their phosphorus content greatly increased, their calcium content did not, so that the phosphorus: calcium ratio fell. These results are discussed in the context of the cation content of the granules and estimates of the amount of phosphate present in granule form.
