Oxygen self‐diffusion coefficients for forsterite single crystals were determined in different orientations by the single‐spectrum proton activation technique. In the temperature range 1275°–1625°C the diffusion coefficients in b direction can be represented by D b = 3.5 × 10 −3 exp [(−89 ± 3 kcal/mol)/RT] cm 2 /s.
