Abstract We are reporting the first synthesis of the new chiral Brønsted acid BINBAM [( R )‐1,1′‐binaphthyl‐2,2′‐bis(sulfon)amide, 2 ], which can be obtained in four steps from commercially available BINOL ( 5 ). The compound is expected to be an alternative for established catalysts like phosphoric acids of BINOL 4 or TRIP and to show stronger Brønsted acidity. (© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
