Reaction of [Rh2(µ-CO)2(η-C5Me5)2] with N2CR1R2(R1 R2 H; R1 R2 CF3; R1 H, R2 CO2Et; R1 H, R2 CH : CH2) affords the dynamic complexes [Rh2(µ-CR1R2)(CO)2(η-C5Me5)2], whereas, reaction with [Pt(cod)2](cod cyclo-octa-1,5-diene), [Pt2(CO)2(η-C5H5)2], or [Pt(C2H4)(PPh3)2] gives, respectively, [Rh2Pt(µ-CO)2(cod)(η-C5Me5)2], [Rh2Pt(µ-CO)2(CO)2(η-C5Me5)2], and [Rh2Pt(µ-CO)2(CO)(PPh3)(η-C5Me5)2]; an X-ray diffraction study on the last complex reveals incipient triply-bridging carbonyl ligands.
