Abstract

We study the possibility of creating a Huygens source antenna for linear polarisation with good matching to a 50 Ω feeding cable. For this purpose, we design two identical radiating elements, both comprising one electric and one magnetic dipole. The dimensions of these radiating elements are optimised numerically to obtain equally strong radiation from the electric and magnetic dipoles. The optimised prototype is then manufactured and its radiation properties are measured.
