Static economic dispatch for co-generation systems

This paper presents an efficient algorithm for the solution of the economic dispatch of co-generation systems. The key lies in the exploitation of the high degree of separability of the cost function and the constraints. Test results show that for medium size systems (40 units) the method is more than 20 times faster than a conventional procedure based on quadratic programming.
