Abstract

A modified split‐ring test has been devised whereby it is possible to measure strains produced between porcelain enamel and iron from room temperature to the softening point of the enamel. A correlation of data obtained by this test is made with warpage and expansion data to determine the accuracy and validity of the test. A description of the apparatus used and the method of determining strains is presented.
