Medicinal Plants of Mauritius

Abstract

A preliminary survey of Mauritian medicinal plants has been carried out. 197 plants commonly used for their medicinal properties are reported. The vernacular names are given along with data on the plant parts used and for which diseases. The known pharmacological action, physiological effects and chemical constituents are listed.
