Reduction of intestinal mucosal immune function in heat-stressed rats and bacterial translocation

Abstract

Heat stress damages rat intestinal mechanical and mucosal immune barriers, and reduces immune function of the intestinal mucosa and mesenteric lymphoid tissues, leading to bacterial translocation.
