AbstractIn 119 healthy subjects, aged 17–76, the serum levels and urinary excretion of β2-microglobulin were studied by radioimmunoassay. No obvious differences were found between men and women. Serum levels increased with age. Urinary excretion, expressed as β2-microglobulin clearance/creatinine clearance, did not change much with age. At pH levels of 5.5 or less, a degradation was observed of β2-microglobulin in urine.Key Words: β2-Microglobulinserumurine
