Investigation into the temperature sensing behavior of Yb<sup>3+</sup> sensitized Er<sup>3+</sup> doped Y<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>, YAG and LaAlO<sub>3</sub> phosphors

The sensitivities (<italic>S</italic>) of Y<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> (YAG/LaAlO<sub>3</sub>):Yb<sup>3+</sup>/Er<sup>3+</sup> phosphors increased with increasing average bond covalency and the calculated values were basically in good agreement with our experimental results.
