SummaryElectron-miscrocopic investigations on a case of secondary human renal amyloidosis have confirmed the results previously reported by other investigators regarding the localisation and structure of amyloid. In addition, the amyloid substance was found in colose association to endoplasmatic membranes within endothelial cells of the glomerulus. This finding was taken as a confirmation of the hypothesis, that amyloid has a cellular origin in the site where it is found.
