Abstract Spirofurooxindoles derived from α‐furylcarbinols were rearranged into spirocyclopentenoneoxindoles exclusively or as a mixture of spirocyclopentenoneoxindoles and indoles under different reaction conditions. Along with our previous studies, the stepwise C ‐Piancatelli rearrangement has been presented for the first time.
