An indirect fluorescent antibody technique for the diagnosis of Hematodinium sp. infection of the Norway lobster Nephrops norvegicus

Abstract

An indirect fluorescent antlbody technique (IFAT) has been developed to detect Hematodinium sp. in the haemolymph and tissues of the Norway lobster Nephropsnorvegicus. The IFAT, belng more sensitive and rellable than prevlously used fleld and laboratory diagnostic techniques, detects both lower-level haemolymph lnfectlons as well as previously undlagnosable tissue ~n f e c t ~o n s .
