Observation of cellular patterns in a partly filled, horizontal, rotating cylinder

Abstract

The liquid in a partly filled, horizontal, rotating circular cylinder displays at least three different types of periodic, cellular motion. Two of these, which have apparently not heretofore been presented, are described.
