The series impedance and shunt admittance of an acoustic line is calculated from the linearized acoustic equations. Exact and limiting formulas for small and large tubes are provided for R, L, G, C, the real and imaginary parts of the characteristic impedance Z0, as well as the phase velocity v and attenuation constant α. All results are presented in convenient form for quick computation on the basis of tables and graphs. A self-consistent set of molecular data is presented. Accuracies of formulas and of the data are discussed in detail.
