Measure for phase linearity based on symmetry of time-domain response

Abstract

A measure for phase linearity based on distortion in the time domain is proposed. The distortion is defined as asymmetry of the system's response to the ideal band-limited signal. The proposed measure is suitable for system comparison, as well as for filter and phase equaliser design.
