The crystal structure of calcium hydride

Neutron-diffraction patterns of CaH/sub 2/ and CaD/sub 2/ were measured to obtain more information on the positions of the hydrogen atoms. The results are in disagreement with those of Zintl and Harder, and calculations on the basis og a CaH/sub 2/ model were found to agree with the experimental data while those of Zintl and Harder's model did not. The structure of CaH/sub 2/ is discussed. (D.L.C.)
