New kind of microstrip antenna:the monopolar wire-patch antenna

Abstract

The Letter describes a new kind of microstrip antenna which uses an original resonance phenomenon due to the presence of ground wires near the coaxial feed probe. This antenna works like a short monopole for frequencies situated below the fundamental cavity resonance mode.
