It is found that Ti in Sm(Co–Cu–Fe–Ti)7 magnets enhances coercivity up to iHc=9500 Oe and that the coercive force due to Fe substitution in Ti substituted alloys decreases less than in alloys without Ti. It is noticed that the post-sintering aging treatment is not required to get high coercive force. Developed Sm(Co–Cu–Fe–Ti)7 magnets are shown to have irreversible losses comparable to SmCo5 magnets and good thermal stability. The origin of the large coercive force for these magnets is discussed in terms of the domain-wall pining model.
