Abstract

' Penbritin " (B.R.L. 1341) is a new penicillin prepared from 6-aminopenicillanic acid. It is of special interest because it is acid-stable and is active against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The compound is 6[D(-)a-aminophenylacetamido]penicillanic acid, with the structural formula S CH.CO.NH.CH-CH C K\CH3 NH2 CO-N-CH.COOH
