Abstract

Abstract (+)- and (−)-Manicone, (+)-(6S)- and (−)-(6R)-(4E)-4,6-dimethyl-4-octen-3-one, were synthesized in good yields by the TiCl4-promoted reaction of 3-trimethylsiloxy-2-pentene with (+)-(2S)- or (−)-(2R)-2-methylbutanal.
