The bis-2-methoxyphenyldiketopyrrolopyrrole 1 might serve as the basis for a new fluorescence solar collector. The dye crystallizes in two distinct fluorescing modifications, the lattice packings of which provide insight into fluorescence-deactivating processes in the crystal.
