Solutions for Sound-Radiation Problems by Integral Equations at the Critical Wavenumbers

Abstract

Numerical calculations of sound radiation from vibrating surfaces by solution of an integral equation can become indeterminant or give spurious results if the wavenumber is too close to one of an infinite set of critical wavenumbers. Several methods are described for obtaining correct solutions at these critical wavenumbers.
