Analysis of the avalanche effect of the AES S box

Abstract

AS the unique nonlinear structure in most block ciphers, S-box accounts for the AES algorithm's security. Firstly, this paper introduces the cryptographic properties of the S box. Then a detail analysis of the avalanche effect of the AES S box and inverse S box are made. Lastly, the paper indicates that AES S box and inverse S box indeed have the good avalanche effect by detailed data.
