The influence of the piezooptical effect on postlasing in electrooptically <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">Q</tex> -switched Nd:YAG lasers is discussed and a simple method for its elimination is presented.
