Electron-photon angular correlations for electron impact excitation of Xe

Electron-photon angular correlation measurements have been carried out for electron impact excitation of the Xe 6s(3/2)10 (3P1) state. The angular correlation parameters lambda , mod chi mod and mod epsilon mod for the process are determined at the incident electron energies of 30, 40, 50, 60 and 80 eV for electron scattering angles up to 30 degrees . A considerable spin-orbit coupling effect was suggested by the behaviour of the parameter mod epsilon mod . The results are compared with those of other experiments.
