Abstract

EVER since chronic discoid lupus erythematosus was first described in 1828 by Biett, there have been innumerable reports of its treatment.1 2 3 4 Various methods have been advocated but none have proved successful in substantially significant numbers, and some have been associated with many severe toxic complications.The first effective use of quinacrine hydrochloride in the treatment of discoid lupus erythematosus by Prokoptchouk,5 and later by Page6 and others, opened a new realm of therapy.
