Some newly synthesized compounds of the type [(Me3Si)3X1X2(SiMe3)3] (X1, X2 = Si, Ge, or Sn) together with some related compounds bearing triisopropylsilyl or -stannyl groups are characterized by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The structural data are compared to similar compounds already known. The interaction of silyl groups connected to different central atoms such as Si, Ge, and Sn is analyzed.
