Effects of Ethanol on Photoreceptors and Visual Function in Developing Zebrafish

Abstract

Ethanol affects photoreceptor function at low concentrations that do not disturb retinal morphology. Higher levels of ethanol inhibit photoreceptor development and cause hypoplasia of the optic nerve.
