Abstract

We have determined experimentally the absolute cross sections for i-electron capture (to projectile) and j-electron removal (from target) (σjq, q-i), total electron capture[atj= j-electron removal(oq= and i-electron capture(oq, q-i= £;aq.q-i') for the processes: I,+(q =10 or 15) 4- B -»■ ï^_,)++ BJ++ j —t)e (B = Ne, Ar, Kr and Xe) at collision energy of 1, 5j keV. Charge-state distributions of the scattered ions were measuredin coincidence with the recoil ions. The absolute electron-capture cross sections were measuredby the initial growth-rate method. The experimental results forrqandaqwere compared withthe predictions of the extended classical over-barrier model(ecbm). The branching ratios of themultiply-excited ions produced by multi-electron transfer have also been determined.
