Abstract

The reaction of [Pd(dmba)(py)(THF)](ClO4) with (acetylmethylene)triphenylphosphorane in THF at 0 °C affords the title complex (1), in which the APPY ligand is bonded through oxygen to the soft Pd(II) center, an unusual type of coordination for this kind of ambidentate ligand. 1·CH2Cl2 has been characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy and by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study.
