Synopsis This paper reports the social results of a double-blind placebo controlled trial of fluphenazine decanoate. Among patients on placebo there was a deterioration in family relationships, which was due to an increase in aggression, noisiness, talking about delusions, and socially embarrassing behaviour after withdrawal of active drug.
