A reflectarray antenna composed of double crossed loops of variable lengths printed on a conductor backed substrate is introduced. Using this technique, a single-layer reflectarray with wider bandwidth compared to conventional single-layer reflectarrays is fabricated and measured. Measured results demonstrate a radiation efficiency close to 55% and 1 dB gain–bandwidth of 10%, centred at 22 GHz.
