The saturation magnetostriction λ of two single crystals of nickel has been measured over the temperature range 20°K to 500°K by a capacitance bridge method. The (λ, T) curves allow a reasonable extrapolation to absolute zero to be made, giving λ111 = -28 x 10-6, λ100 = -57 x 10-6, values which are of the same order as those calculated by Fletcher (1955), λ111 = -44 x 10-6, λ100 = -187 x 10-6.
