Abstract

Yams made from different fibers were pneumatically spliced. An increase in diameter and a reduction in hairiness were observed at the spliced zones. The performance of dry and wet spliced yams was evaluated on the warping and weaving machines. Spliced yams produced significantly lower yam break in both warping and weaving compared to knotted yams. Wet splicing performed better than dry splicing.
