Abstract

Abstract Total and partial deletions of the region covering the substrate-binding site of the Escherichia coli cuprous oxidase, CueO evidenced that the unique specificity for cuprous ion originates in the steric hindrance to interfere the access of laccase substrates towards the type I Cu site.
