A new polyether antibiotic, kijimicin was found in culture nitrate of an Actinomadura sp. MI215-NF3, which was isolated from a soil sample collected at Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Japan. The antibiotic showed higher anticoccidial activity than monensin or salinomycin and further studies are now in progress.
