Three ‘intermediate helium’ or ‘helium-strong’ stars with colours or spectral types in the β Cephei range have been checked for small-amplitude variability, and four stars have been checked for rapid variability. No variations similar to those exhibited by β Cephei or roAp stars are found, although one star, HD 66522, is probably variable on a time-scale of days.
