A retrospective comparative study evaluating the results of a single-perfusion versus double-perfusion schedule with melphalan in patients with recurrent melanoma of the lower limb

In the patient groups studied, the double-perfusion schedule shows a better complete remission benefit than does the single-perfusion procedure. No differences are seen in limb, regional node, and distant recurrence rates in the two groups. Thus, additional improvement of the perfusion methodology is warranted.
