Abstract

Measurements have been made of the fundamental resonant frequency of helicon waves in thin rectangular samples of pure indium. The experimental results are compared with the predictions of the theory by Legendy in 1964 and a good agreement demonstrated. The high field Hall coefficient derived from the experiments is consistent with the theoretical value calculated on the assumption of one hole per atom.
