S ummary . The case of a 71‐yr‐old man with primary acquired sideroblastic anaemia associated with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia is described. Cytogenic studies of the peripheral‐blood lymphocytes and the bone‐marrow cells provided evidence for chromosomal abnormalities common to erythroblasts and leukaemic lymphocytes. This finding strongly suggests that in this patient the two diseases are related.
