A trans-sialidase from Trypanosoma cruzi was used to prepare several sialic acid-containing oligosaccharides with a truncated glycerol side chain. STD NMR was used to characterise the binding constant and binding epitope of the oligosaccharides to their neural receptor protein MAG.
