Life events are associated with a range of psychiatric disorders—including depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia—and physical illnesses such as appendectomy, abdominal pain, multiple sclerosis, and myocardial infarction, as documented in multiple studies. The LEDS study synthesizes these associations, concluding that life events significantly influence both mental and physical health outcomes.
