Seventy-four patients with psoriasis underwent a combined topical treatment with an 8-methoxypsoralen solution and black light. In thirty-four patients the skin lesions healed; in twenty-three patients they improved considerably. Eleven patients showed only a moderate regression of the lesions, whilst in six patients treatment was for various reasons discontinued during the first phase, The 8-methoxypsoralen-black light therapy can be performed in out-patients and has the advantage over dithranol treatment of being entirely clean. Relapses are not resistant to further similar treatment.
