Abstract

Four cases of granuloma inguinale occurred in which ampicillin was administered orally. All lesions healed, including those seen in one patient in whom the recurrence of lesions had occurred following prolonged tetracycline hydrochloride therapy. This is the first known report of ampicillin being used in the treatment of granuloma inguinale.
