Abstract

CONGENITAL esophageal stenosis at the level of the cardia is an uncommon and poorly understood anomaly. Since the majority of these cases in infants respond satisfactorily to instrumental dilatation, the precise nature of the stricture is rarely determined. For this reason, an unusual case in which the obstruction was caused by an annular band of hypertrophic muscle is reported.Case ReportJ. R.
