Abstract

A 6-year-old boy developed fever, exanthematous rash, weight loss, lethargy, weakness, and arthralgia following immunization with live, attenuated rubella virus vaccine (Meruvax Duck Cell). Biopsy of muscle, nerve, liver, and lymph node revealed vasculitis, myositis, neuritis, hepatitis, and nonspecific lymphoid hyperplasia. Recovery coincided with prednisone therapy.
