The bis(dihydrogen)ruthenium complex RuH2(H2)2(PCy3)2 (1) reacts with (CH2CHCH2)Me2SiH to produce the title complex 4, a very reactive species stabilized by coordination of a vinylsilane ligand via Ru−(η2-H−Si) and Ru−(η2-CC) bonds. 4 catalyzes dehydrogenative silylation of (CH2CHCH2)Me2SiH and redistribution at silicon under C2H4 pressure.
